The Philadelphia Phillies have signed lefty reliever Fernando Abad according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.

Heyman notes that Abad can make up to $3.1 million on incentives.

Last season, Abad was 1-6 with an ERA of 3.30 in 43.2 innings for the Boston Red Sox.

Abad has spent time with the Houston Astros, Washington Nationals, Oakland Athletics, Minnesota Twins and the Red Sox during his eight-year career.

The Phillies will open their season on March 29 in Atlanta against the Braves.
