The Baltimore Ravens have brought in a veteran arm to back up Joe Flacco.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports that the team has signed Matt Schaub to a one-year deal worth $3 million.

Schaub, 33, spent last season with the Oakland Raiders. Having signed with the team as the presumptive starter, Schaub was benched in favour of rookie Derek Carr. Schaub appeared in just 10 games for the Raiders, completing five passes for 57 yards. He was intercepted twice and sacked three times.

A two-time Pro Bowler, Schaub spent the previous seven seasons with the Houston Texans, where he had four 4,000-yard passing seasons.

The Ravens' back-up for the past four seasons was Tyrod Taylor. He signed with the Buffalo Bills earlier this month.

Keith Wenning, a 2014 pick out of Ball State, is also on the Ravens' roster.
