The San Jose Sharks are close to knocking two extensions off their off-season to-do list.

According to Paul Gackle of the Mercury News, the Sharks are close to re-signing both Joonas Donskoi and Melker Karlsson to multi-year contracts.

Both forwards are arbitration-eligible restricted free agents this summer.

Donskoi, 25, scored six goals and added 11 assists in 61 games with the Sharks this season, his second since joining the team from Karpat of the Swedish Elite League. He scored 11 goals and recorded 36 points in 76 games during his first NHL campaign.

Karlsson, who will turn 27 in July, scored 11 goals and added 11 assists in 67 games during the regular season. He made his debut with the Sharks during the 2014-15 and scored a career-high 13 goals in 53 games.

He scored one goal in six playoff games, while Donskoi added two assists.

Chris Tierny is the only other restricted free agent on the Sharks. Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau and Michael Haley are all slated to become unrestricted free agents this summer.
