Matt Kemp appears to be heading to the San Diego Padres

The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to trade Kemp and catcher Tim Federowicz to the Padres in exchange for catcher Yasmani Grandal and pitchers Joe Wieland and Zach Eflin, according to reports.

The Dodgers will also send about $31 million of Kemp’s remaining $107 million salary as part of the deal, reports say.

The 30-year-old Kemp hit .287 with 25 home runs and 89 RBIs last season. His best season came in 2011 when he hit .324 with 39 home runs, 126 RBIs, and 40 stolen bases before battling multiple injuries in the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

The deal comes on the heels of the Dodgers acquiring Howie Kendrick and Jimmy Rollins via trade, and signing pitcher Brandon McCarthy to a four-year deal.
