Richard Sherman will avoid Tommy John surgery, at least for now, according to reports first by Fox Sports.

The Seattle Seahawks cornerback was advised to try and let his elbow heal on its own by renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews.

Sherman’s elbow will be checked on again in a month.

The 26-year-old injured his elbow during the Seahawks NFC Championship win over the Green Bay Packers, but still played in the Super Bowl two weeks later.
