Centre Mike Ribeiro is headed back to the Nashville Predators on a two-year, $7 million deal that will keep him from hitting the open market as an unrestricted free-agent.

In his first and only season with the Predators, Ribeiro appeared in all 82 regular season games and contributed 15 goals and 47 assists as well as a plus-11 rating.

The 35-year-old also saw action in six playoff games last season and had a goal and four assists.

The Montreal native was drafted 45th overall in the second round by his hometown Canadiens and made his NHL debut with the franchise during the 1999-2000 season.

He has also spent time with the Dallas Stars, Washington Capitals and Phoenix Coyotes amassing 217 goals and 501 assists in 947 career regular season games.
