The Saskatchewan Roughriders' search for a new general manager and vice-president of football operations has brought them to the doorstep of the Ottawa Redblacks and Calgary Stampeders.

TSN senior correspondent Gary Lawless reports that the Roughriders have asked permission to speak with Redblacks assistant GM Brock Sunderland and Calgary Stampeders assistant GM John Murphy about the position in Saskatchewan.

The Riders did not qualify for the playoffs this season after recording a CFL-worst 3-15 record - the team's worst record since 1999.

Head coach Corey Chamblin and general manager Brendan Taman were fired on Aug. 31. Bob Dyce and Jeremy O'Day took over the respective roles on an interim basis but now, the club is looking for permanent replacements.
