Saskatchewan Roughriders wide receiver Ryan Smith made highlight reels with his leaping catch against the Toronto Argonauts last week.

Unfortunately, Smith will not have a chance to repeat his performance against the BC Lions. Riders head coach Corey Chamblin said Wednesday Smith is "banged up" and is expected to miss Saturday's matchup.

Through two games this season, Smith has 11 catches for 251 and two touchdowns. He also has one rush for six yards.

The Roughriders (0-2) will also be without linebacker Shea Emry, who was placed on the six-game reserve list Wednesday.

Emry was injured the Roughriders season-opener against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

The 29-year-old linebacker registered 72 tackles and one sack last season with the Toronto Argonauts. He was traded to Saskatchewan during the offseason.

Also on Wednesday, the Riders released kicker Chris Milo. Milo opened the season for the Roughriders, but became expendable when the team signed veteran Paul McCallum.

Quarterback Keith Price practiced with the Roughriders on Wednesday, the team plans to sign him on Thursday and have him dress against the Lions.

The former University of Washington star hasn't played since he was with the Huskies in 2013. That season, he threw for 2,966 yards and 21 touchdowns with six interceptions.
