SAGUENAY, Que. — Charlotte Robillard-Millette was among three Canadians to advance on Wednesday at the Saguenay National Bank Challenger.

The Blainville, Que., native reached the tournament's quarter-finals for a second straight year following a 6-3, 7-6(3) win over American Jessica Wacnik.

Robillard-Millette, 17, used a strong serve to finish the match in straight sets. The teenager will face the winner of Thursday's match between second-seeded American Jennifer Brady and Germany's Laura Schaeder.

Robillard-Millette also won her doubles match with partner Bianca Andreescu of Toronto.

Francoise Abanda of Montreal and Aleksandra Wozniak of Blainville also advanced to the second round.

Abanda began her tournament with a comfortable 7-6(2), 6-0 victory over American Nicole Coopersmith in just 53 minutes.

Abanda, the tournament's seventh seed, will play Wozniak in the second round on Thursday night after she beat Britain's Katie Boulter 6-3, 6-4.
