DENVER - A game after being no-hit, the Colorado Rockies' bats were jumping. Unfortunately, the pitching staff couldn't stop the Milwaukee Brewers from doing the same.

In their first game since being no-hit by Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw, the Rockies got their league-leading offence back on track with a 16-hit game, but it wasn't nearly enough against Milwaukee. Jean Segura homered twice and Ryan Braun had three hits to help the Brewers hold off Colorado 13-10 on Friday night.

Khris Davis homered and Carlos Gomez extended his hitting streak to 16 games as the Brewers scored their most runs of the year and tied a season high with 19 hits.

"Pitchers didn't get away with much tonight," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said.

Christian Bergman (0-2) was roughed up in his third career start. The rookie allowed seven runs in three innings after allowing just five runs total in his first two outings.

His night became more troublesome when he was hit on the base of the left hand by a line drive hit by Aramis Ramirez in the top of the third inning. Davis followed with a two-run homer and one out later Segura hit his second to give the Brewers a 7-6 lead.

An X-ray was negative and Bergman said he should make his next start if the swelling goes down quickly.

"It's fine. It's not broken, it's just really swollen," he said. "Hopefully it cools down in the next couple of days."

Marco Estrada (6-4) gave up seven runs and a career-most 10 hits, yet still earned the win thanks to the Brewers' bats.

Justin Morneau, Corey Dickerson and Brandon Barnes homered for the Rockies. Morneau finished with five RBIs as the Rockies shrugged off Kershaw's gem Wednesday that included 15 strikeouts.

"I don't think the offence was struggling just because one of the best pitchers in the game pitches a no-hitter against us," said Troy Tulowitzki, who finished with three hits and a walk. "I don't think we even thought about that."

The opening three innings played more like the Coors Field of old, before the humidor came into existence. The teams combined for 13 runs and 16 hits.

"Definitely a good night to hit but I think there were a lot of mistakes, a lot of 0-2 hits where if pitchers made their pitches they'd be a little better off," Tulowitzki said. "There's no doubt the ball was flying. There were a lot of bad pitches on both sides."

Estrada began to find his groove after Morneau's three-run homer gave Colorado a 6-4 lead in the second inning. He pitched three straight scoreless innings to give Brewers hitters a chance to open up a gap. Milwaukee took the lead for good on Segura's second homer of the game in the third.

It was Segura's first multihomer game. He also had an RBI single

The Brewers were leading 11-6 in the sixth when Dickerson hit a two-run homer — his fourth hit of the night.

An inning later, Barnes lined a two-run homer to make it 12-10.

"It was a real offensive night," Bergman said. "We did a good job of coming back and making it a close game, they just scored more runs than we did."

Milwaukee reliever Will Smith found himself in a precarious situation in the eighth, with two on and one out. Segura made a nifty play in the hole to snare Morneau's grounder and threw to second for a forceout. Smith struck out Wilin Rosario to end the threat.

Francisco Rodriguez struck out two of three in ninth for his 24th save in 26 chances.

NOTES: Tulowitzki leads the majors with 58 runs scored. ... Morneau has two 5-RBI games this season. ... The Brewers will throw RHP Wily Peralta (7-5) on Saturday against LHP Christian Friedrich, who will be making his season debut. Friedrich missed most of last season with back inflammation. ... Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado (broken left middle finger) said his recent X-ray came back clean and that he hopes to begin batting as soon as next week. He put on his glove again Friday. "Felt a little weird," Arenado said. "But it felt good."
