UNCASVILLE, Conn. - Jeff Shattler had a hat trick and added two assists as the Calgary Roughnecks picked up their first win of the season by edging the New England Black Wolves 9-8 on Friday night in National Lacrosse League play.
   
Curtis Dickson struck twice for the Roughnecks (1-2), with Wesley Berg, Tyler Digby, Dane Dobbie and Kellen LeClair rounding out the attack.
   
Pat Saunders, Kevin Buchanan and Sheldon Burns all had a pair of goals for New England (1-1). Brett Bucktooth and Shawn Evans also scored.
   
Frankie Scigliano kicked out 35 shots for the win in net as Evan Kirk made 46 saves in a losing effort.
   
Calgary scored three times on six power-play chances while the Black Wolves were 1 for 3.
