One day after acquiring receiver Maurice Price from the Ottawa Redblacks, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed him to a contract extension.

Details of the extension were not released. Price and a sixth-round pick (52nd overall) were acquired from the Redblacks in exchange for a sixth round (45th) and seventh round (54th) draft pick.

Price started all 18 games for the Redblacks in his first season with the team, hauling in 58 receptions for 603 yards and a touchdown.

“We had an opportunity to acquire a veteran receiver with a high level of speed that can add a game breaking element to our team,” Riders vice president of football operations, general manager and head coach Chris Jones said in a team release after acquiring Price. “He is an intelligent and versatile player that has succeeded playing different roles in multiple offences.”

Prior to his year in Ottawa, Price played three seasons with the Calgary Stampeders. For his career, the 30-year-old has 167 receptions for 2,340 yards and 13 touchdowns.
