The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed national receiver Kevin Francis after selecting him in the Supplemental Draft last week.

The Roughriders surrendered their third round pick in next year’s CFL Draft to pick up Francis.

Francis played four seasons at North Carolina A&T, recording 17 receptions for 163 yards. Francis was also a key member of the team’s special teams units.

“We had a chance to see Kevin at a work out recently and I was really impressed with how he tested,” noted Riders General Manager and Head Coach Chris Jones. “He is a big kid that moves really well and has proven he is capable of exceling on special teams.”

Francis was deemed a national because he was born in Toronto before moving to New York.
