The St. Louis Blues have announced that forward Jaden Schwartz will be placed on the injured reserve with a right ankle injury. 

Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong made the announcement Sunday and said the 25-year-old will be re-evaluated in six weeks. 

Schwartz left in the first period of Saturday's 6-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings after blocking a shot by Mike Green

Initially the x-ray came back negative and Blues head coach Mike Yeo said Schwartz's foot was sore.

Schwartz is second on the Blues in points with 14  goals and 21 assists this season in 30 games.  

The team has called up C Ivan Barbashev from the Chicago Wolves (AHL), 

St. Louis is first in the Central Division and have the third best record in the NHL at 20-8-2.
