Team Canada head coach Willie Desjardins confirmed that goaltender Ben Scrivens will start Game 1 against Switzerland. 

In 35 games so far this season for KHL club Ufa Salavat Yulayev, Scrivens has a GAA of 2.29 and a save percentage of .917. 

He last played in the NHL during the 2015-16 season. Over 144 career games, Scrivens is 47-64 with a GAA of 2.92 and a save percentage of .905.
