An injury has forced former UFC champion Anderson Silva off this weekend’s UFC 198 card, the promotion has announced.

The 41-year-old is expected to undergo gall bladder surgery, leaving Uriah Hall without an opponent for the Curitiba, Brazil card.

President Dana White has said that he is trying to find a replacement fight for Hall.

Silva returned from a year-long drug policy suspension in February where he suffered a unanimous decision victory at the hands of Michael Bisping in the main event of Fight Night London.

The UFC legend’s last official victory was in October of 2012 when he earned a TKO victory over Stephen Bonnar in his last successful middleweight title defence.

He subsequently lost twice to Chris Weidman and had his unanimous victory over Nick Diaz overturned for the positive test.
