PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- Czech skier Sarka Zahrobska has undergone surgery to remove a tumour on her pituitary gland.
Ceska Sportovni, an agency which represents Zahrobska, said Thursday in a statement that its client underwent surgery on Wednesday at Prague's military hospital and has since "communicated normally."
The agency said last week that the 27-year-old Zahrobska, the 2007 world champion, had to be hospitalized because of acute neurological problems.
It is not clear yet when Zahrobska will be able to resume training for next season.
Zahrobska took second place at the 2009 worlds and claimed bronze at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics but has been struggling the past two World Cup seasons.
She teamed up with Austrian coach Klaus Mayrhofer ahead of the new season.
