LAKE LOUISE, Alta. - Skiing far more aggressively than in her season debut a day earlier, Lindsey Vonn was in provisional 10th place after the first 45 skiers in a World Cup downhill on Saturday.

The 2010 Olympic downhill champion said she felt "much more like myself" in the second race of a comeback from reconstructive surgery on her right knee in February.

The American finished 40th of 60 starters in a downhill on Friday, her first competition since a high-speed crash at the world championships 10 months ago. After that race, she acknowledged feeling nervous and not attacking the course the way she has on the way to four overall World Cup titles and 14 previous wins at Lake Louise.

Aiming to peak for the Sochi Olympics, Vonn will race a super-G on Sunday.
