MONTREAL -- The Montreal Impact have acquired Sporting Kansas City's highest second round pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft in exchange for defender Josh Gardner.
The option on Gardner's contract has been exercised and he has been added to the Sporting Kansas City roster.
The Impact now has two first round picks and two second round picks in the Jan. 17 draft in Indianapolis.
Gardner played six regular-season games in 2012, including five starts.
He previously played with the Columbus Crew and LA Galaxy.
