NEW YORK -- Canadian international Will Johnson has been named Major League Soccer's player of the week.

The Toronto-born midfielder scored two goals on Saturday to help the winless Portland Timbers salvage a 2-2 toe with Colorado.

He headed in a cross in the 55th minute before securing the point with a penalty in the 71st as Portland came back from a 2-0 deficit.

Johnson has made 33 appearances for Canada's senior men's team, scoring three goals.
