BASEL, Switzerland - Brazilian coaches remain among the possible candidates to take over Portugal when Luiz Felipe Scolari leaves after the European Championship.
The Portuguese football federation has said it won't likely announce a new coach until after the competition is over, but admitted that it is searching for a coach with a style similar to Scolari's. Federation vice-president Amandio de Carvalho told Portuguese media recently that language is a factor.
Local media has been speculating that potential candidates for the job include former Fenerbahce manager Zico and former Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo.
Mozambique-born Carlos Queiroz, Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant at Manchester United, also was being touted to return.
