MILAN, Italy -- Defending champion Juventus stretched its Serie A unbeaten streak to 46 games with a 2-1 victory at Siena on Sunday.

Claudio Marchisio scored what proved to be the winner for the league leader six minutes from time.

Andrea Pirlo gave Juventus the lead with a trademark free kick in the 13th minute but Emanuele Calaio levelled in first-half stoppage time, with Juventus looking lethargic.

Pirlo also hit the crossbar with another free kick.

Juventus coach Antonio Conte was given a rousing reception by the Siena fans as he took his seat in the stands. Conte led Siena to promotion in 2011 before quitting to take over Juventus.

Conte saw his 10-month ban for match-fixing violations during his time at Siena reduced to four months on appeal this week.

Juventus took the lead through Pirlo's low free kick, which Siena goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo got a hand to but could not prevent from going in.

Pirlo almost scored from another set piece in the 39th minute but crashed his effort off the crossbar.

Juve came close to doubling its lead two minutes from halftime but Pegolo pulled off a good save to keep out Marchisio's screamer.

Siena levelled moments later as Calaio was left completely unmarked to head in Angelo's cross.

Sebastian Giovinco should have scored on the hour mark after controlling well and dribbling past Pegolo, but he took the ball too close to the deadball line and the opportunity disappeared for Juventus.

Giovinco did have a hand in the winner as his cross was headed out but only as far as the onrushing Marchisio, who volleyed it into the bottom right corner.

Siena coach Serse Cosmi was sent to the stands for dissent towards the end of the first half.

Also Sunday, high-flying Lazio cruised to a 3-0 win at struggling Pescara. Hernanes opened the scoring with a stunning 30-yard free kick in the fifth minute, and Miroslav Klose dribbled round Pescara goalkeeper Mattia Perin in the 25th to double Lazio's lead before scoring his fifth goal of the season with a powerful downwards header 10 minutes later.

In the lunchtime fixture, American Michael Bradley scored his first goal for Roma in a 2-0 win against Atalanta.

The United States midfielder sealed the game in the 62nd minute, slotting in the ball after Atalanta goalkeeper Andrea Consigli spilled Mattia Destro's powerful effort.

Erik Lamela gave Roma the lead on the half hour, playing a smart one-two with Francesco Totti before slotted it past the onrushing Consigli.

Both teams hit the bar in the first half, with Maxi Moralez first smashing his effort off the woodwork from six yards in the 17th as Atalanta came close. Destro then volleyed Lamela's header off the crossbar two minutes from halftime.

Stevan Jovetic continued his impressive start to the season as he scored his fifth goal of the season to send Fiorentina on its way to a 1-0 victory against Bologna.

Luca Toni thought he had doubled Fiorentina's lead early in the second half but his header was ruled out for offside.

Catania also got off to a good start in its 2-0 win against 10-man Parma as Alejandro Gomez gave it the lead with less than two minutes on the clock.

Parma defender Yohan Benalouane was sent off midway through the second half for a second bookable offence.

Gonzalo Bergessio sealed the result 10 minutes from time and could have doubled his tally in stoppage time but his effort was disallowed for offside.

Elsewhere, Cagliari's new coaches Ivo Pulga and Diego Lopez got their reign off to a perfect start, recording the Sardinian team's first victory of the season with a 1-0 win at Torino.

The duo replaced Massimo Ficcadenti on Tuesday.

Nene scored the only goal of the game in the 74th minute from the penalty spot following Torino defender Kamil Glik's handball.

Rolando Bianchi thought he had headed Torino level, but it was ruled out for offside.
