TORONTO -- Canadian forward Daniel Haber has signed a pro contract with Israeli club team Maccabi Haifa FC.
The junior from Toronto will forgo his last year of eligibility at Cornell to make the move.
Haber, named the Ivy League Player of the Year in November, is coming off an 18-goal, 43-point campaign for the Big Red.
The first-team All-American led the U.S. college ranks with averages of 1.06 goals per game and 2.53 points per game.
Haber signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Maccabi Haifa after two weeks of tryouts.
Maccabi Haifa is a 12-time Israeli Premier League champion, last winning the crown in 2010-11. The team currently sits third in the top Israeli league.
