BARCELONA, Spain -- Atletico Madrid drew 0-0 with 10-man Getafe on Thursday to reach the quarterfinals of the Copa de Rey with a 3-0 victory on aggregate.

Atletico had little trouble protecting its lead from the home leg. Getafe was lacklustre in attack and was reduced to 10 men in the 33rd minute after defender Rafael Lopez was red carded for fouling Radamel Falcao with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Getafe forward Angel Lafita was carried off with an injury early in the match.

Atletico will now face either Real Betis or second-division Las Palmas, which meet in the last-16 later on Thursday. The quarterfinals start next week.

Also later, Barcelona hosts lower-tier Cordoba in their second leg with a 2-0 goal advantage.
