It looks like Toronto FC striker Jermain Defoe will not play Saturday against Sporting Kansas City as his name wasn't on the list of the 18 players travelling to Kansas City.
The club was hoping the English star would make his return this weekend after missing the past two games with a groin strain, but it appears he needs more time to heal.
The original diagnosis, which came down on Aug. 4, said that Defore would miss two to three weeks with the injury.
The 31-year-old is the team's leading scorer with 11 goals in 15 games.
TFC currently sits in third place in the Eastern Conference with 32 points.
