StarCraft is a real-time strategy game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment in which armies controlled by a human players battle until one has been completely vanquished.

Players can control one of three races: Protoss, Zerg and Terran. Each species differs in play style but the fundamentals and objectives of the game remain the same.

In order to grow your army, players must harvest resources and use them to upgrade facilities, characters, etc. The resources act like currency for building structures in your base and adding more soldiers to your army.

Players farm their resources using a one of three types of worker characters depending on the race - Drones for Zerg, SCV for Terran and Probes for Protoss. These units collect minerals and vespene gas for their teams.

Minerals are the main resource in StarCraft and are required to build everything, while vespene gas is used for more advanced structures and characters. Vespene gas comes from a vespene geyser and can only be harvested once a specific building is built on top of it.

Each race has a wide array of characters that have strengths and weaknesses in battle.

The game ends when one team's entire army and all its structures are destroyed.

RACES

Protoss: This race is tough as nails but requires more resources than any other to build up an army. They can withstand a lot of damage and don't require as big of an army to succeed.

Terran: Not the strongest of races but experts at their craft. These characters with different duties (medic, soldier, etc.) are designed to work together in order to complete the objective and survive on the battlefield.

Zerg: This race believes in quality over quantity. They aren't too strong and aren't too expensive, but they produce at rapid speeds and attack in massive swarms.
