Dallas Stars forward Antoine Roussel will have a hearing with the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety on Thursday for his cross-check on Boston's Adam McQuaid.

The 25-year-old Roussel received a major penalty and game misconduct for cross-checking on the play, which occurred early in the first period of the Stars' 5-3 win over the Bruins on Tuesday.

NHL Player Safety announced the hearing via Twitter shortly after the completion of the game.

Roussel has no prior suspensions over the course of his NHL career but was fined $5,376.34 - the maximum under the NHL's Collective Bargaining Agreement - for punching an unsuspecting Justin Braun, during the team's Nov. 8 games against the San Jose Sharks.

In 54 games this season, Roussel has scored 11 goals and 11 assists with 112 penalty minutes.
