NEW YORK (AP) - Zuzana Ondraskova of the Czech Republic upset fourth-seeded Dally Randriantefy of Madagascar 6-3, 6-3 on Tuesday in the opening round of the Forest Hills Women's Classic.
The entire field of 16 in the $74,800 US tournament will be competing in next week's U.S. Open.
Ondraskova lost to Randriantefy, who is ranked 53rd by the WTA, in the first round of this year's Australian Open.
In other matches, Italy's Roberta Vinci routed Michaela Pastikova of the Czech Republic 6-1, 6-0; Italy's Antonella Serra Zanetti overtook Croatia's Sanda Mamic 6-7 (6), 6-2, 6-1; and Iveta Venesova of the Czech Republic beat Puerto Rico's Khristina Brandi 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-3.
