Despite rumours swirling that Peter Forsberg has already committed to AK Bars Kazan of the KHL, the two-time Stanley Cup winner has reportedly yet to make a decision on his future.

Forsberg has told his Winnipeg based agent Don Baizley that he will not make a decision on his future until after the conclusion of the Karjala Cup which the 36-year old is currently participating in Sweden and Finland.

Several NHL scouts are carefully observing the injury prone superstar to see if his troublesome foot is healthy enough for a return to the NHL.

The New York Rangers, along with a pair of Forsberg's former teams, the Philadelphia Flyers and Colorado Avalanche, have shown interest in bringing the 2003 Hart Trophy winner back to the NHL.

Forsberg is reportedly considering a multi-year offer from AK Bars worth several million dollars.  Numerous websites had reported that an agreement was already in place to bring the two-time Olympic gold medalist to Russia.

Forsberg has undergone numerous surgeries on both his right foot and ankle over the past few years along with a re-occurring groin injury.  He last skated in the NHL in the 2007-08 season when he played nine games with the Avalanche.
