This season, Leo Rautins looks at the biggest issues in the NBA in a halftime feature called Fast Break.
On Tuesday, Rautins offered his thoughts on the Bucks' improved play, the surging Mavericks, the Magic and what free agents should focus on.
Q - How have the Bucks passed the Raptors in the standings?
A - The Milwaukee Bucks are 15-4 since January 26. Brandon Jennings can really play, he's moving the ball, and he's sharing the ball. While he is not scoring like he did in the beginning of the year, Andrew Bogut is getting the ball, and since they acquired John Salmons the team has changed and they are winning games.
Q - Will the Mavericks catch the Lakers in the West?
A - I think they will. The Dallas Mavericks are the best defensive team they have ever had. They have a secondary scoring option in Caron Butler to help Dirk Nowitzki out and this team is better than the team that lost to the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals.
Q - Are the Magic better than they were last season?
A - Let me put it this way; the chemistry has not been there with the acquisition of Vince Carter, but the talent is there and the chemistry is coming. Look for them to make some noise heading into the playoffs.
Q - Should free agents sacrifice money to win?
A - If you really want to win, then take less. Guys talk about it, they say they want to win, but how many actually care that much to take less?
