CALGARY -- The Calgary Stampeders have signed defensive backs Mike Mickens and Ronnie Amadi, as well as linebacker Eryk Anders.
Anders, from San Antonio, Texas, was a key player in Alabama's undefeated season and national title in 2009. The 23-year-old compiled 66 tackles, six sacks and led the Crimson Tide in quarterback hurries with 17. Anders had a sack and forced fumble in Alabama's win over Texas in the national championship game.
Mickens, 22, was a seventh-round draft pick (277th overall) of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2009 NFL draft. The native of Huber Heights, Ohio, was on the practice squads of both the Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals, and also spent time on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' roster last season. He played four seasons at the University of Cincinnati.
Amadi, 28, started the first 11 games of the 2009 season for Calgary before he was injured. The Columbia, South Carolina, native had 27 tackles, a sack and three pass knockdowns for the Stamps.
