With two weeks to go until the highly-anticipated launch of Canada's newest all-sports Radio station - TSN Radio 1050 - TSN, along with CTV Inc. and CHUM Radio, announced Thursday that TSN's James Cybulski will headline TSN Radio 1050's afternoon drive show, Cybulski & Company.

Airing weekdays from 4pm to 7pm et, Cybulski moves behind the mic to host Cybulski & Company beginning April 13, when TSN Radio 1050 hits the airwaves for the first time in the Greater Toronto area on AM 1050 and nationally online at TSN.ca and on the TSN MOBILE app for BlackBerry and iPhone.

“This is a new opportunity for fans in the GTA to connect over the biggest stories from the world of sports and debate the headlines beyond the stadiums and arenas.  We're going to be fun, entertaining and, in true TSN style, feature the best sports experts and insiders in the business, probing all the hot button issues of the day,” said James.

“For me, it's an opportunity of a lifetime to be able to engage newsmakers and listeners on a station aiming to set a new benchmark in sports broadcasting.”

Engaging and entertaining, Cybulski & Company brings fans up to speed on the Toronto sports scene with exclusive commentary and analysis from TSN's best-in-class broadcast team, including James Duthie, Bob McKenzie, Darren Dreger, Pierre McGuire, Dave Naylor, Chris Schultz and Dan Shulman, along with other featured guests and familiar faces from the world of sports and beyond.

“James is one of Canada's most diverse sports broadcasters with a wealth of high-profile hosting and reporting experience both on television and on Radio.  He's young, highly-entertaining, and he brings a refreshing voice to the Toronto sports Radio landscape,” said Stewart Johnston, President, TSN.  “His popularity and interests go beyond the sports world, and it's his ability to work at the intersection where sports and pop culture collide that makes him the perfect fit to host TSN Radio 1050's flagship afternoon drive show.”

“James is an exceptional talent who, along with the rest of our broadcast team, will be great ambassadors for TSN Radio 1050 and the CHUM Radio brand,” said Chris Gordon, President, CHUM Radio. “With many of our marquee shows now in place, we are confident that our diverse slate of programming will appeal to fans both in the GTA and across Canada.  We are primed to take sports Radio to a new level and give fans and advertisers alike the most entertaining sports talk from the country's definitive voices in sports broadcasting.”

A sports broadcasting veteran, Cybulski has covered some of the biggest sporting events in the world during his 16-year career, including the IIHF World Junior Championship, Grey Cup, Stanley Cup Playoffs, NBA Finals, UFC, NCAA March Madness tournament and Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. He spent five years covering the Toronto sports beat for TSN, reporting exclusively on the city's major sports stories and franchises, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Raptors and Argonauts. Cybulski also has extensive sports radio experience in major Canadian markets, including hosting stints on stations in Ottawa and Vancouver, where he hosted the morning drive show on TEAM 1040 Vancouver.

Cybulski has conducted feature interviews with marquee sports personalities such as Sidney Crosby, Reggie Jackson, Dan Marino, Georges St-Pierre, David Stern and Gary Bettman, among others.  Cybulski also crafted an inspiring report on Jay Triano's life-changing encounter with Terry Fox over 30 years ago. Outside of the sports realm, Cybulski has interviewed celebrities such as Will Ferrell, Billy Crystal and Spike Lee, as well as funny man Stephen Colbert at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Also joining the all-sports station is TSN's Steve Kouleas, who brings his encyclopaedic NHL knowledge and unbridled passion for hockey to TSN Radio 1050 as host of his brand-new show, THAT'S HOCKEY 2DAY, on weekdays from Noon to 1pm et beginning April 13. THAT'S HOCKEY 2DAY complements Kouleas' ultimate hockey highlight show, THAT'S HOCKEY 2NITE, airing weeknights on TSN2.

Cybulski and Kouleas are the latest additions to TSN Radio 1050's all-star broadcast team, which includes veteran radio broadcaster Mike Richards – host of the station's marquee morning show, THE MIKE RICHARDS SHOW.

The next evolution of the TSN brand, TSN Radio 1050 will feature best-in-class analysis from TSN's sports experts and insiders and coverage of live sporting events such as Toronto Argonauts games during the 2011 CFL season, along with original programming during the week.
