Team Canada will play its gold medal game at the Spengler Cup without Byron Ritchie after the forward was suspended for a check to the head.

Romain Loeffel was the victim of the hit which took place during the second period of Canada's 5-1 semifinal victory over Fribourg Gotteron.

Canada will play for the championship Monday against the winner of the late semifinal between host HC Davos and Vitkovice Steel.
