Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender James Reimer left Monday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers with a lower-body injury.

Backup Ben Scrivens took over for Reimer early in the second period with the Leafs leading 3-1.

Reimer appeared to suffer the injury as he was stretching across the crease to make a save. As the puck left the Leafs' zone, he struggled to get back to his feet before play was halted.

Reimer left the ice without putting any weight on his left leg and did not return to the game. He will undergo more tests on Tuesday.

After the game, Maple Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle said he doesn't think the injury is serious, adding Reimer shouldn't "miss any extended period of time."

In nine games this season, Reimer has a record of 5-3 with a goals-against-average of 2.30 and a save percentage of .929.
