Flyers waive Gauthier; acquire Ramholt from Flames

The Philadelphia Flyers have put defenceman Denis Gautheir Jr. on waivers for the purpose of buying him out.

Gauthier, acquired at the 2006 trade deadline from Phoenix for two second round picks, played last season in the AHL. He scored 3 goals and 15 assists for 18 points for the Philadelphia Phantoms, and was a +16 with 80 penalty minutes in 78 games.

The Flyers also acquired 6'1", 194-pound defenceman Tim Ramholt from the Calgary Flames in exchange for left wing Kyle Greentree.

Ramholt, 23, recorded four goals and 20 assists for 24 points and 73 penalty minutes in 77 regular season games for the Quad City Flames of the AHL.

Greentree, 24, posted 24 goals and 24 assists for 48 points and 83 penalty minutes in 72 games with the Flyers AHL affiliate.
