The Ottawa Senators have found a replacement for goaltender Ray Emery. They signed Alex Auld on Tuesday to a two-year deal worth $2 million.
Auld split last season between Phoenix and Boston. He finished with a record of 12-13-5 with a 2.68 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.
Auld was a starter for the Vancouver Canucks in 2005-2006, but was dealt to the Florida Panthers in the Roberto Luongo trade. He struggled as Florida's starter and they opted not to re-sign him.
Auld signed with the Phoenix Coyotes last summer, and they later traded him to the Bruins.
Auld is expected to be Martin Gerber's back-up in Ottawa.
