Start spreading the news - Maggie the Monkey has chosen the Pittsburgh Penguins to win the Stanley Cup in her final selection before retiring from TSN.

Maggie is looking to correctly predict the championship series for the first time in her six years of prognosticating. She is 0-5 in the final series so far.

The crab-eating macaque from the Bowmanville Zoo made her final visit to TSN Studios on Friday to spin the wheel and make her selection alongside NHL on TSN host James Duthie. TSN announced earlier in the playoffs that this is Maggie's last year making playoff picks. Her record so far this post-season has been a disappointing 4-10.

Maggie became a national celebrity in 2003 when she correctly predicted that the underdog Anaheim Mighty Ducks would win each of their first three rounds to advance to the Stanley Cup Final. She had them to win the final against New Jersey and was nearly correct, as Anaheim extended that series to seven games.

Maggie was given some retirement gifts following her final spin of the wheel. Duthie presented her with some cupcakes and a big celebration cake with her picture on it. Maggie also received a primate-sized Muskoka chair, and a mini Ducks jersey on behalf of the club. Maggie happily dug into the cupcakes right away.

The Stanley Cup final begins Saturday night in Detroit.
