It appears the Pittsburgh Penguins will play Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final without forward Petr Sykora.

Sykora was seen gingerly leaving Mellon Arena on Wednesday on crutches, sporting a brace on his right foot and ankle.

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Sykora has a broken bone in his foot and will not play in Game 7.

Sykora confirmed to TSN the injury occurred in the second period after he blocked a shot. When asked if there is any chance he'll be available for Game 7, Sykora chuckled and said, "I don't think so."

If he misses Friday's game, it will be the second time that Sykora will have been sidelined by an injury late in a Stanley Cup final. While playing for the New Jersey Devils in 2000, Sykora took a blow to the head from Dallas Stars defenceman Derian Hatcher during Game 6, and was taken to hospital for tests. The Devils won the Cup that night, and teammate Patrik Elias draped Sykora's #17 jersey over his shoulders during the trophy presentation.
