Former Devils great MacLean named Lowell head coach

Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - The Lowell Devils named John MacLean head coach, joining a staff that includes assistant coach Kevin Dean and goaltending coach Chris Terreri, the American Hockey League club announced.

"There is no question as to John MacLean's knowledge of the game," New Jersey Devils President/CEO/General Manager Lou Lamoriello said. "This is the next step in his bright coaching career."

The 44-year-old MacLean earned 413 goals, 429 assists and 1,328 penalty minutes in 1,194 games with New Jersey, San Jose, the New York Rangers, and Dallas during his 19-year professional career.

MacLean is the New jersey franchise's all-time leader with 347 goals, is second with 701 points, third with 354 assists, and fourth in all-time games played with 934.
