Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed right wing Derek Dorsett to a two-year contract extension.
Dorsett ended his rookie season in 2008-09 with four goals, one assist and 150 penalty minutes in 52 games. He topped all rookies in penalty minutes and added 116 hits.
The 22-year-old netted the game-winner against Vancouver on October 21 for his first NHL goal just 10 days removed from his league debut. The Saskatchewan native was originally a seventh-round pick in the 2006 draft.
