John Tavares will get his first taste of NHL action tonight as the New York Islanders visit the Edmonton Oilers.

Tavares, who missed Monday's preseason match against the Vancouver Canucks because of the flu, is feeling better and will skate in an NHL game for the first time. Also, former Oilers goalie Dwayne Roloson is expected to start in goal for the Islanders against his former club.

Edmonton is coming off a 4-1 road win yesterday over the Calgary Flames. Patrick O'Sullivan scored a pair of goals, while Mike Comrie had two assists in his return to the Oilers.

Both O'Sullivan and Comrie will get the night off as Edmonton switches up its top lines tonight. Sam Gagner will play between Robert Nilsson and Ales Hemsky, while Andrew Cogliano centres a line with Dustin Penner and Jordan Eberle.

Sheldon Souray and Ladislav Smid will anchor the blueline, with Devan Dubnyk and Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers sharing the goaltending duties for the second straight night.
