Markus Naslund has decided to reunite with former teammate Peter Forsberg in their former club in Modo.

The former NHL player, who retired in early May, announced in a news release that he hopes to be able to skate with the team in a few weeks after he gets his conditioning up.

"I will do anything to get in shape and hope I can add something on the ice, but as everybody understands it's not just to get on the ice and perform," Naslund said in a statement.  "I'm really looking forward to play with Modo again and the fact that Peter and I will do it together is of course something really special."

Naslund and Forsberg are no strangers on this ice, playing four seasons with Modo in the Swedish Elite League and also representing Sweden at the World Junior Hockey Championship, World Championship and the Winter Olympics.

According to reports, Naslund and Forsberg have both turned down salaries with the team will play for free.

Naslund scored 395 goals and recorded 869 points in his 15-year NHL career.
