The Nashville Predators have seemingly picked their goaltender going forward.
TSN has confirmed that the club has signed Pekka Rinne to a two-year, $6.8 million contract. The deal will reportedly pay Rinne $2.8 million in 2010-11, and $4 million in 2011-12.
The move keeps Rinne from reaching unrestricted free agency.
Rinne, who has split time this season with Dan Ellis, has a 20-12-4 record with a 2.80 GAA and a .902 save percentage.
Ellis, who has a 13-11-1 record with a 2.59 GAA and a .913 save percentage, will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
