The dismantling of the disappointing Edmonton Oilers looks to be underway.
The club has dealt defenceman Denis Grebeshkov to the Nashville Predators for a second round draft pick in 2010.
The 26-year old has appeared in 47 games this season, recording six goals and 13 assists.
In 223 career NHL games, Grebeshkov has 16 goals and 66 assists.
Grebeshkov, who is earning $3.15 million this season, will become a restricted free agent on July 1.
He will not have long to wait before seeing his former teammates again as the Predators host the Oilers on Tuesday.
There is speculation the Grebeshkov deal could pave the way for Nashville to trade D Dan Hamhuis. Hamhuis is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
The Predators are currently in seventh place in the Western Conference with 71 points, two points ahead of the eighth place Calgary Flames.
