The National Hockey League has suspended Colby Armstrong of the Atlanta Thrashers for two games for using his elbow to deliver a blow to the head of Washington Capitals' Mathieu Perreault on Thursday night.
The incident occurred in the second period of the Capitals' 2-1 win and there was no penalty called on the play.
Armstrong will forfeit $24,870.47 in salary to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund. He will be eligible to return on April 9 against the Capitals in Washington.
