Phoenix Suns point guard and B.C. product Steve Nash appeared on Off the Record with Michael Landsberg on Thursday, weighing in on everything from Stanley Cup predictions to Chris Bosh's status and World Cup soccer.

Nash's brother-in-law Manny Malhotra plays for the San Jose Sharks, and Nash was asked who he would have been rooting for had the Sharks ended up facing his favourite team, the Canucks, in the Western Conference final, rather than the Chicago Blackhawks.

"I don't have to deal with that problem, luckily. As a Canucks fan, obviously I wanted them to win the Cup but it would have been tough," the 36-year-old told OTR. "I love Manny, I wanted to see him play great, but it would have been hard to root against the Canucks, so I don't know."

In recent weeks, the Raptors' Chris Bosh created a bit of a firestorm in Toronto and elsewhere when he started tweeting asking fans about where he should play next season.

Nash told OTR he had wanted to respond to Bosh on Twitter but that he didn't end up doing so. Landsberg asked Nash where he thought Bosh should play next season.

"Stay with the Raptors, of course," he said.

Other points of interest from Nash's appearance on OTR:

- he said he wouldn't wear a visor if he was a hockey player

- he had kept his status as an Olympic torchbearer a secret since October (he did tell his wife)

- Nash is picking the Sharks to win the Stanley Cup

- he says that, with no Canadian team in the World Cup, he'll be rooting for England
