San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Andres Torres drove in the game-winning run in the 10th inning as the San Francisco Giants rallied for a 6-5 win and a three-game sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Torres finished the game 4-for-6 with an RBI and two runs scored, Buster Posey was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI while Aubrey Huff hit a solo home run for the Giants, who have won five of six.
"Today there was different guys who stepped up throughout the game," said Posey. "We have a good lineup here and it's not like we have to count on any one guy to do it all."
Ian Kennedy was charged with just two runs on five hits with three walks and six strikeouts over six innings but did not factor into the decision. Carlos Rosa (0-1) was tagged with the first loss of his career.
"Today I thought we fought pretty hard," said Kennedy. "Games like this are tough to lose, especially cause we lost so many in a row. You could kind of see that it looked like we were gonna win. It's tough to lose these ones."
With the score tied at two in the eighth, Arizona took the lead. Kelly Johnson led off with a single and Upton walked before a sacrifice bunt from Stephen Drew put both runners in scoring position. Mark Reynolds was issued a free pass and LaRoche followed with an unintentional walk to force home Johnson.
Guillermo Mota then took the mound and a sacrifice fly from Young made it a 4-2 game.
Huff led off the bottom of the eighth with a home run off the top of the wall in right, but Aaron Heilman kept the lead intact by retiring the next three batters.
Upton's RBI double in the ninth gave Arizona its two-run lead back.
The Giants, though, rallied in the bottom of the frame to tie the game. With Chad Qualls on the mound and one out, Travis Ishikawa doubled and Torres followed with a single. Freddy Sanchez then singled home the first run and Pablo Sandoval was able to beat out a potential double play to plate the tying run.
San Francisco drew first blood with a pair of runs in the first inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Bengie Molina hit a sacrifice fly to right that plated Torres. Posey followed with a double to bring home Sanchez for a 2-0 lead.
Arizona, though, tied the game in the second as LaRoche led off with a single and Snyder later knocked a 1-2 pitch just over the wall in right for his seventh home run of the season.
