The Calgary Flames signed goaltender Henrik Karlsson to a one-year contract on Tuesday, one day after the team made the Swedish netminder a qualifying offer.
Calgary acquired the 26-year old on Saturday from San Jose in a draft-day trade that sent a sixth-round pick back to the Sharks.
At 6'5" and 205 lbs, Karlsson is a six-year veteran of the Swedish Elite League. Last season he played 34 games with Farjestad, and posted three shutouts and a 2.45 GAA.
