Maybe Stevie Baggs should have waited a week before signing with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
According to the National Post, Baggs received a call from the Arizona Cardinals on Monday asking if he wanted to return to the team that released him last week.
"They cut a guy on the active roster and they wanted me to come back. I would have had an opportunity to go back there," Baggs told the National Post.
Baggs signed with the Tiger-Cats last week and is slated to make his 2010 debut against his old team, the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday. Being under contract to the Tiger-Cats means the dominant pass rusher cannot take the Cardinals up on their offer but he's okay with that.
"It's crazy, but it's good. That's life," Baggs told the newspaper. "I have no regrets, because at this point in my career and in my life I'm a little more spiritually mature and I understand everything happens for a reason."
Last season, Baggs combined with John Chick in Regina to form the best pass rush duo in the CFL. Chick signed with the Indianapolis Colts after the season and is currently on the team's practice roster.
