The Minnesota Wild have hired former Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins coach Michel Therrien as a part-time professional scout.
According to the Star-Tribune, Therrien watched the Wild's game against the Blue Jackets on Wednesday with Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher.
"Michel knows hockey," Fletcher told the Star-Tribune. "He's won in many places and he wants to lead a team again. So, he wants to attend games and stay around the NHL. We are delighted to have him"
The 46-year old Therrien has been out of hockey since being fired by the Penguins in 2009, less than a year after he helped lead Pittsburgh to the Stanley Cup finals.
